CAMiLEON (Creative Archiving at Michigan & Leeds Emulating the Old on the New)
The CAMiLEON Project is developing and evaluating a range of technical strategies for the long term preservation of digital materials. PRONOM, the file format registry
PRONOM is an on-line information system about data file formats and their supporting software products. Originally developed to support the accession and long-term preservation of electronic records held by the National Archives, PRONOM is now being made available as a resource for anyone requiring access to this type of information. PRONOM holds information about software products, and the file formats which each product can read and write. A full description of the individual fields used by PRONOM is available in the system documentation.

UNESCO Emergency Programme for the Protection of Vital Records
The XXXI International Conference of the Round Table on Archives held in Washington in 1995 considered the grave dangers presented to archives by wars and other conflicts and the consequent threat to the basis of the rights of citizens and states. In one of its resolutions it requested UNESCO to undertake a RAMP study on this subject.
