Cedars began in April 1998 and will end in March 2002. Its broad objective is to explore digital preservation issues. These range through acquiring digital objects, their long-term retention, sufficient description, and eventual access.

Guideline for the Digitisation of Paper Records-Queensland State Archives (Australia)

Queensland State Archives has developed a guideline to assist Queensland public authorities which are digitising, or considering digitising their paper records. This guideline has been written following wide ranging research into records digitisation practices in Australia and internationally and in consultation with many Queensland public authorities, the private sector and other archival and records management authorities. InterPARES Project (International Research on Permanent Authentic Records in Electronic Systems)

InterPARES is a major international research initiative in which archival scholars, computer engineering scholars, national archival institutions and private industry representatives are collaborating to develop the theoretical and methodological knowledge required for the long-term preservation of the authenticity of records created in electronic systems. The InterPARES Project is based in the School of Library, Archival and Information Studies at the University of British Columbia.

LEAF (Linking and Exploring Authority Files)

LEAF (Enlace e Investigación de Ficheros de Autoridades) es un proyecto de tres años de duración que comenzó en marzo del 2001, cofinanciado por la Comisión Europea dentro del Programa Tecnologías de la Sociedad de la Información del Quinto Programa marco. LEAF desarrolla un modelo de arquitectura para establecer enlaces y proporcionar acceso a autoridades distribuidas. El sistema permitirá la carga en el sistema central de las autoridades distribuidas, y establecerá enlaces automáticos a aquellas autoridades que pertenezcan a la misma entidad.

MASTER (Manuscript Access through Standards for Electronic Records)

MASTER is a European Union funded project to create a single on-line catalogue of medieval manuscripts in European libraries. This project has developed a single standard for computer-readable descriptions of manuscripts. It has created software for making these records, and tested the standard and the software on descriptions of some 2000 manuscripts. Many of these records will be mounted in a single networked catalogue, available to everyone. MASTER is funded under the Framework IV Telematics for Libraries call.

The MoReq Specification is a model specification of requirements for Electronic Records Management Systems (ERMS).

Traducció al castellà del Grupo de Trabajo de Expertos en Documentos Electrónicos dins del Projecte CARMEN (Control ARchivístico de la Memoria ElectróNica). MoReq es un modelo de requisitos funcionales para la gestión de documentos electrónicos de archivo elaborado a través del programa IDA de la Comisión Europea. Redactado originalmente en inglés, la Subdirección General de Coordinación de Recursos Tecnológicos de la Administración General del Estado, del Ministerio de Administraciones Públicas, remitió a la Subdirección General de los Archivos Estatales la versión castellana de MoReq para que expertos en gestión de archivos llevasen a cabo una revisión del vocabulario técnico.

MoReq2

MoReq2 is a Model Requirements Specification for the Management of Electronic Records. It defines generic requirements for an electronic records management system, or ERMS.

NDAD-UK National Digital Archive of Datasets

NDAD contains archived digital data from UK government departments and agencies. The system has been available since March 1998 and provides open access to the catalogues of all its holdings, and free access to open datasets following a simple registration process. The information in this archive is primarily UK government data that has been prepared or stored on computer, along with associated documents which are scanned and stored as both image and text files. Public documents on paper which have not been digitized (such as certificates of birth, marriage and death) are not within the present scope of this system.
