This is the primary site for all European archives that are referenced. EAN's site creation was initiated on May 15, 1998 at the European Summit on Archives, in Berne, Switzerland, organized by the European Board of ICA. The Swiss Federal Archives are the site's webmaster.

The Historical Archives of the European Communities, administered by the European University Institute, Florence, has the mission of acquiring, conserving and making available to the public the archives, which are over thirty years old, emanating from the European Community Institutions for Coal and Steel, the Common Market and Euratom (High Authority and European Commission, Council of Ministers, European Parliament, Economic and Social Committee and Court of Auditors).

O Instituto dos Arquivos Nacionais / Torre do Tombo (IANTT) é um organismo público de âmbito nacional, tutelado pelo Ministério da Cultura, dotado de personalidade jurídica, património próprio e autonomia administrativa. Exerce simultaneamente funções de Arquivo Histórico, tutela directa sobre arquivos, na medida em que integra o Arquivo Nacional, a quase totalidade (16) dos Arquivos Distritais e ainda a Biblioteca Pública de Évora, funções de superintendência técnica e normativa sobre todo o sector de arquivos do País, coordenação da Rede Nacional de Arquivos, bem como funções de execução da política arquivística nacional definida pelo Governo da República, a quem pode aconselhar na matéria.

  Link   DLM Forum
The DLM Forum was created though an initiative of the European Commission in 1997 with support from the public archives of European Union member states. Until 2002 the DLM Forum was an inter-disciplinary cooperative effort led by the EU member states and the European Commission. Subsequently, the DLM Forum has evolved to become a wider community of interested parties in archive, records, document and information lifecycle management throughout Europe.

From the third triennial conference in Barcelona in 2002 the DLM Forum has been an independent body and attracted members from both the public and private sector. It now includes suppliers, end users, consultants, regulatory bodies and associations. The DLM Forum is well established as an influential European centre, setting standards and guidelines within the disciplines of electronic information archiving and management.
